DCP is a people-driven movement established in response to the urgent call from Kenyans for a new era of leadership rooted in integrity, inclusivity, and accountability.

Formed through extensive consultations with citizens from all walks of life, DCP stands as a unifying force for those who believe in a Kenya where every individual’s voice matters.

Why we started

Our party was founded on the conviction that active listening and genuine engagement are the foundation of effective governance. DCP brings together patriots determined to address the nation’s most pressing challenges by placing citizens at the center of decision-making.

What guides us

Guided by the philosophy "Skiza Wakenya" (Listen to Kenyans), we are committed to building a government that is responsive, transparent, and truly representative of the people’s aspirations.

Our vision

A Kenya where every citizen’s voice is heard, respected, and shapes the nation’s destiny.

Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) envisions a Kenya where every citizen’s voice is heard, respected, and shapes the nation’s destiny. We are committed to restoring dignity, justice, and inclusive prosperity for all Kenyans, at home and in the diaspora, by championing true participatory democracy and accountable leadership.

Our mission

To build a government that listens, includes, and empowers every Kenyan.

DCP’s mission is to build a government that listens, includes, and empowers every Kenyan. We believe leadership is a solemn duty to actively engage with citizens, understand their needs, and co-create solutions for social, economic, and political transformation. Our party is founded on the principle that listening to the people is not a privilege, but a right and responsibility of every leader.

The Listening Ear

Our philosophy: “Skiza Wakenya” (Listen to Kenyans)

Our slogan, “SKIZA WAKENYA,” and our symbol, the Listening Ear, reflect our unwavering commitment to genuine dialogue with all Kenyans. We believe that sustainable progress begins with leaders who deliberately and purposefully listen, ensuring no one is left behind or unheard.

Our core values

Seven values guide how we lead and how we hold our own leaders to account.

Rule of Law and Social Justice

We are committed to upholding the law, protecting civil liberties, and promoting fairness.

  4. 04

    Inclusivity and Equity

We embrace Kenya’s diversity, ensuring representation and participation across all communities, ages, genders, and abilities.

  5. 05

    Devolution and Empowerment

We support the equitable distribution of power and resources to all regions.

    Unity in Diversity

We celebrate our differences as strengths, fostering national cohesion and peace.

  7. 07

    Citizen Participation

We champion active involvement of all Kenyans in governance and decision-making.

Our promise

DCP is not just a political party, it is a movement for all Kenyans, regardless of faith, tribe, age, or background. We promise:

  1. 1

To listen to every Kenyan, especially those in the most remote villages and marginalised communities.

  2. 2

To include the ideas and solutions of citizens in crafting our manifesto and policies.

  3. 3

To offer a fair, transparent, and inclusive platform for all aspirants, with no favouritism or discrimination.

  4. 4

To fight for a Kenya where taxes serve the people, public services are efficient, and opportunities are accessible to all.
